Reach out to the House of Representatives and support H.R.804 to amend the National Security Act to protect the National Security Council from political interference. The intent of this bill is to stop someone whose work is only political from being on the National Security Council and to keep the Director of National Intelligence and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff as permanent members. (Both of who’s permanent seats were removed, while Steve Bannon was given an permanent seat.)
On Feb 1, the bill went to the House Intelligence Committee, the House Foreign Affairs Committee and the House Armed Services Committees to review and discuss.
Let’s make some calls on this, shall we?
Devin Nunes (R-CA)
Adam Schiff (D-CA)
Ed Royce (R-CA)
Elliot Engel (D-NY)
Mac Thornberry (R-TX)
Adam Smith (D-WA)
Suggested talking points:
- Please tell the Congressman I support H.R. 804 to amend the NSC from political interference.
- Stephen Bannon should not have a permanent seat on the NSC but the Director of National Intelligence and the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff should.
- There is no place for politics in national security. I don’t want partisan politics jeopardizing our country’s safety and security.
